Open League Team & Player of the Week

Teams of the Week

Award Bulldogs

Open League C Division

The Bulldogs were given the opportunity to play for the Open C Division title on the last game of the regular season. The team kept their composure and battled back from a 5 run deficit to tie the game and force extra innings. After making a great double play to end the top of the first extra inning the Bulldogs completed the win by stringing together multiple hits to bring home the winning run. It was a great team effort.

Award Tsunami

Open League D Division

The Tsunami is a well practiced team and formidable competitors. They have a ton of talent and a variety of players and personalities. They really show sportsmanship and class out on the field and truly represent the spirit of the ECSA .

Players of the Week

Award Kevin Lager

Open League C Division

Kevin played solid defense all day for the Thrusters and it has been fun watching his progression all season. With two outs against the Maulers and up by 2 runs... ball was hit to Kevin in right field. As he went to plant his feet to catch the ball, his footing gave way, and down to his backside he went. He reached his glove up as he hit the ground and made the game winning catch in what was was an amazing, intense game. Great job Kevin!

Award Zac Zahara

Open League D Division

Two Words: INCREDIBLE IMPROVEMENT Zac is quickly becoming a stellar player. Zac really struggled with hitting and making contact at first and now has shown major improvement in timing and force of contact. Also, his fielding (usually outfield) has become more and more solid. His Snow-cone catch in a game against the Tsunami was one that he had to really hustle to get to; it was awesome!
